The Louisiana Pilotage Fee Commission was created by act of the 2004 Louisiana Legislature  to establish rates and fees charged by licensed river pilots operating on the Mississippi and Calcasieu rivers. It consists of 4 representatives nominated by industry associations, 4 representatives of the river pilots' associations, and  3 at-large appointees of Governor Bobby Jindal.

All public records maintained by the Commission are available for inspection at the office, 8550 United Plaza Boulevard, Suite 702, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802.

LAPFC Reduces Surcharge

At its regular meeting held on May 10, 2012,
the Commission voted unanimously to reduce
the rate of its funding surcharge by $10 per
vessel per trip. This marks the second such
reduction by the LPFC in the past 3 years
and reflects a $35 total reduction since the
surcharge was first instituted.
